Don’t get me wrong, some days having absolutely nothing to do is a GREAT thing. Other times you are itching to get out of the house to do something – anything! But what, right? Growing up as an only child taught me to get creative when you find yourself with time on your hands. Inspired by the Belk’s True Craft brand, I’m channeling my best “weekend vibes” to share five of my favorite ways to beat summer boredom – on any budget.
True Craft allows you to explore your own one-of-a-kind style and is perfect to wear on any summer adventure! I wore my True Craft tie-front tee for a day on the bike with classic jean shorts and my favorite slip-on sneakers. (Also a comfy option for your favorite sweat pants and a mug of coffee!)

1. Hop on a Bike
Grab a comfy top like this True Craft tee (so soft) and sneaks for an afternoon bike ride! When we go to the beach for Jordan’s family vacation, one of my favorite things to do is jump on a the beach cruisers and ride around.
2. Learn a New Hobby
Is there something you’ve been wanting to learn like photography or even a cooking lesson? I’ve always wanted to take a summer leisure class! Check your local colleges or recreational centers for class offerings.
3. Join a Book Club or Make a Summer Reading List
I normally rely on recommendations from my friends when it comes to knowing the best books to read. In fact, I just received my next summer read from a friend, and a few of us are planning to read it all at the same time to discuss.
4. Take a Road Trip
This doesn’t mean you necessarily have to go far. Maybe it’s just taking a ride to a museum or restaurant in a neighboring town. Pack road trips snacks and tunes to keep you occupied. I did a full road trip tips blog post here.
5. Treat Yourself
Whether its giving yourself a mani/pedi day or just indulging in a fudge sundae, treat yourself to one of your favorite things at home! Try making up a new summer cocktail recipe or homemade popsicles!
