Why I Changed My Mind About Bodysuits

I remember bodysuits really coming back onto the market last fall, and my initial gut reaction was a resounding NO. I mean, who wants to wear a one-piece bathing suit under their clothes. Aren’t swimsuits traumatizing enough for one season out of the year? But guess what, they’re back this year and in a bigger way than before, and there are so many cute ones on Nordstrom. So let’s just say they’ve piqued my interest. And technically, my job is to investigate the trends and report back to you guys, right?

See why I’ve changed my mind in today’s full post with Nordstrom!

PS. Also wearing a bodysuit in this post from last week!

Okay, do your normal tops stay tucked in on their own? Turns out bodysuits are the best bet for a polished tuck that you won’t have to fuss around with all day. Plus, no awkward bunching up underneath your pants or skirt – think office pencil skirts or high-waisted pants. I recently had a pair of pants that I wanted to tuck a shirt into, but there was just too much material. The last thing anyone wants is a front tuck giving you a wider waistline.

Next, do your normal tops keep you sucked in like Spanx? You’d think a bodysuit would make you feel self-conscious, but I actually felt more comfortable wearing this bodysuit than a regular tee shirt. That’s about the time I realized – okay, I’m into this whole bodysuit thing.

I think the trick is finding the right one for your body. I have a longer torso, so as with swimsuits, I sized up for length. I chose black because it will go with just about everything in my closet for fall. The bodysuit section on Nordstrom boasts a ton of styles and colors. Plus, returns are easy and fast if you want to try out a couple different ones to find your match!

What do you think? Into bodysuits or not your thing yet?

I’m still on the edge about bodysuits myself. I think you’ve changed my mind, though. Love your outfit!

I love bodysuits and wear them all the time! I own so many and keep buying more. I just like how they stay put, they highlight a small waist and look polished. I wear them with everything.
