While in Palm Beach (see my travel recap here), we made sure to make a visit to Major Alley, the spot in today’s post with MAJOR (get it?) floral wall #goals. It’s a spot nestled right off of Peruvian – the same street from this post about packable vacation dresses. But instead of the slip dress, I’m talking about another summer dress trend to try now – the tie front dress.
The midi dress has always been a fave of mine, but it’s getting a little summer update with a twist – literally. I’ve been seeing a lot of these tie front styles lately, and they are adorable for vacation packing. This tie front dress is especially great because of the light material and no-fuss wearability. I found it for under$100 and wore it to dinner at Pizza al Fresco! (I figured that I might need the room for an extra slice!)
I’ve already raved about these heels over on Instagram (@apinchoflovely) because they are beyond comfortable! You can also see them in this recent post. See the ready-to-shop widget below for even more tie front styles!
I’m so excited to be heading to Hangout Fest for the first time ever this weekend! Festival fashion is always a big trend for spring and summer – also see this post for more festival outfit ideas. So, I wanted to share how I’m wearing the festival inspired boho dress and how you can wear it for weekends even if you aren’t heading out to fest!
Ps. I’ve also mentioned these Sole Society Esme heels on Instagram already, but they are SO comfortable. I’ve been wearing them all over the place. I even wore them all night during a recent wedding with no ouch-moments – highly recommended!
Before we bid the summer goodbye, I’ve teamed up with Seastar Beachwear on one really great giveaway to kick off August! I love Seastar’s stretchy espadrilles while traveling because they come in a number of colors and are perfect for biking, beaching, boating etc. I literally wore my pink ones all over Watercolor a few weeks ago for biking to the beach. They are the type of shoes you can wear down on the beach without fear of getting sand on/in. Super stretchy and comfy making them the ultimate travel shoe that comes in a rainbow of colors.
So far I have their espadrilles in white, pink, coral and blue. Obsessive. I know. I think they are literally the perfect beachy vacay shoe though, and they have been with me to Key West, Cape Cod and Watercolor so far this summer. They were also the best kind of deck shoes for our cruise to Bermuda, so chances are you’ve already seen these espadrilles on my Instagram too!

Have you guys seen the Banana Republic new arrivals yet?! Especially the dresses you guys. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many things I’ve wanted to add to my wishlist from BR. This weekend they are also running a 30% off promo code on ALL full-price items, so you don’t have to wait to get those items you’ve had your eye on. I’m sharing one of my favorites in today’s post!
Like I mentioned the other day on Instagram, I’m not ready to say goodbye to all of my summer brights yet, BUT I’m still trying to find ways to tie in a little color into my pre-fall and transitional outfits. This red off-the-shoulder Chicwish dress is a great option for a upcoming weeks when it’s still warm outside, but you’re moving towards a more neutral color palette. I love the huge ruffles that are surprisingly lightweight! Scroll through the post to see a close-up view of the material which is actually a very small gingham check – you guys know I love the gingham!
I wore this dress for a fun day at The Commerce Building downtown for a tour of their living spaces and rooftop pool deck which is soon to host a restaurant that overlooks the Mississippi River. You guys, it doesn’t even look like this building belongs in Baton Rouge – it’s so picturesque up there! OH and yes, this cute little bike is just one of the many that they offer for use to their residents. SO stinking cute!
