There are so many pre-spring clothing arrivals that make me want to skip a few months ahead right into rompers and mini dresses! But let’s take a step back and see how we can actually start incorporating these pieces of spring into our winter wardrobes now. One of the easiest ways to do this is to change our color palettes. So in today’s post, I’m exploring how to wear blush to upgrade your winter outfits.
Blush, for me, is really just another neutral color that we can mix with pretty much anything. You can wear blush with your tans, grays, denim washes and so much more. Look out for staple wardrobe pieces out right now like tees and jackets for layering which can give an instant boost to drab winter outfits. I’m loving this BB Dakota drape front jacket that rings in at under $100! It’s a great piece for layering and for transitioning right into spring. Wear it now with scarves, wear later over tees and swing dresses!
I’ve included more of my top blush picks below including sneakers and accessories for easy shopping!

Today’s post about my 2017 goals and resolutions has been MUCH more difficult to write than I anticipated! Digging deep into your failures, flaws and shortcomings from the previous year can really be a come-to-Jesus meeting! It’s so easy to reflect on all of the GOOD things that occurred and all of the things that went RIGHT. It’s not so fun to admit what you were terrible at and the areas where you completely missed the mark. So, I’ve been doing some reading on how to set intentional New Year’s resolutions in the form of “power words.”
Coming up with power words to represent your year can be more actionable when it comes to keeping your goals in sight. Instead of drafting a list of goals that I’ll likely forget about by the end of the month, I’m creating a short list of words to help visualize the upcoming year. The idea came to me after listening to creative entrepreneur podcasts and a few inspiring conversations with my photographers at our favorite coffee spot. (After all, they’re the closest to coworkers that I have!)
Today, I’m sharing my power words and how I’ll be using them in 2017. I’m also haring my first outfit post of the year – including this striped tote from Sole Society. It seriously makes for best work bag for carrying around my agendas and planners and notebooks! (Not excessive at all.) The cocoon wrap and open toe booties are also comfy go-to pieces for days on-the-go and more coffee meetings to get out of the house!

Today is part two of my favorite winter denim trends with Macy’s! If you missed Part One, click on over here! In this post, I’m sharing my love for the Canadian Tuxedo aka how to wear denim-on-denim. Using pieces from the William Rast collection, here’s another easy way to style denim for winter!
This is my first time trying William Rast denim, and it’s so incredibly soft! The jeans are lightweight and super stretchy (and forgiving!), and I’ve been wearing them nonstop. For sizing reference, order true to size on the jeans, and I suggest ordering up on the shirt.
Ps. They’re also on sale right now as a part of the Macy’s After Christmas sale!
The key to wearing denim-on-denim is picking pieces that are different shades of blue. I chose basics like this sleeveless sweater and puffer vest to break up the two denim shades in my outfit. Add in a colored accessory like a handbag to pull everything together!

Denim should always be at the top of your winter essentials list, so I’ve teamed up Macy’s to share some of my favorite winter denim trends. Today, I’m featuring the Dooney & Bourke chevron denim crossbody as an alternative accessory to pair with your favorite jeans. I love how the chevron pattern channels retro vibes that complement flare jeans (also seen worn in this post) so well!
The pattern on the bag speaks for itself, so I kept my sweater and cardigan neutral to really help the blues in my outfit pop. This is a chic outfit idea for day or night, and chances are, you already have the main pieces in your closet. All you need is a fun bag like this one to pull it all together! See below for the more pieces from the Dooney & Bourke chevron collection!

Ever since my discovery of the Abercrombie brand update earlier this fall, I’ve been stocking up with all of their winter new arrivals! This includes outerwear and my favorite winter coat right now – the puffer jacket! This red faux fur lined puffer jacket was on major sale during Black Friday. And it’s currently on post-Christmas sale right now – marked down 60% off!
I’m pretty sure my affinity for puffers dates back to middle school when all I wanted for Christmas was a Starter jacket. EVERYONE had a Starter jacket even if they didn’t even like sports. Having that pullover puffer was THE jacket you had to have. Apparently my parents didn’t agree. I’m fairly certain I got a pea coat that Christmas…
If you had a Starter jacket growing up, I’m still insanely jealous of you.
Fast forward all of these years, and I’m now making my puffer jacket dreams come true. I picked up this burgundy puffer parka AND this ivory puffer vest with faux fur trim during the A&F Black Friday sale. But, don’t worry they’re now sale items in the Abercrombie post-Christmas sale + I’ve rounded up more favorites too!
