Last Friday was CRAZY y’all – we had an unexpected snow storm blow right through Baton Rouge! It was pretty cool waking up to a winter wonderland, and because Louisiana isn’t used to icy roads, most businesses were closed for the day. No complaints from this girl for getting to spend the day in our pajamas and slippers! (It was so nice having Jordan at home for the day too!) The snow might have already melted, but I’m still living my best fuzzy slipper life and dreaming of these cozy gift ideas from Nordstrom in today’s post.
Our Louisiana winter can be a little unpredictable – last year it was 80 degrees on Christmas! But this year, we’ve had a pretty consistent cool front making it actually feel like December! However, it’s still nothing close to say… Philadelphia and New York, where we will be heading for actual Christmas this year! Luckily, Nordstrom has a selection of winter clothing options that work for Louisiana winter and our snowy Christmas plans! I’m already planning what to pack like my Ugg boots and cozy thermal socks. Keep reading to see my full winter to-do list!
Weather in the south is pretty fickle, so spending a ton of money on sweaters usually isn’t an ideal option for me. Chances are I’ll only get to wear them once or twice during sporadic cold fronts or unless I go on a spontaneous trip to cooler weather! That’s why I typically like to shop the on-trend sweaters under $50 on Nordstrom. That way I won’t feel totally guilty about splurging on a sweater that doesn’t get worn enough!
I remember bodysuits really coming back onto the market last fall, and my initial gut reaction was a resounding NO. I mean, who wants to wear a one-piece bathing suit under their clothes. Aren’t swimsuits traumatizing enough for one season out of the year? But guess what, they’re back this year and in a bigger way than before, and there are so many cute ones on Nordstrom. So let’s just say they’ve piqued my interest. And technically, my job is to investigate the trends and report back to you guys, right?
See why I’ve changed my mind in today’s full post with Nordstrom!
Coming from the world of graphic design (pre-blog days), I always look forward to seeing the Pantone color forecasts each year. I was especially excited to see PINK as a 2017 fall color trend – for obvious reasons. In fact, there are so many gorgeous shades of blush, mauve and rose this year, I am dedicating a full post to it! While I am swooning over the Show Me Your Mumu Robyn dress in today’s post, it’s easy to update your spring/summer blush pieces too. I’m getting a little help from Nordstrom new arrivals to show how I’ll be transitioning all my pink hues this season. Think chunky knits, ankle boots and yes, a dash of animal print!
