How many times have you been in a hurry, pulled something out of your closet and put it back because it was a big, wrinkled mess? (ahem, raises hand) Because let’s be honest, the process of ironing is a giant time suck. In fact, I despise ironing, and I haven’t actually used an iron in probably over three years! I’m spilling on a big time and travel hack that enables me to get dressed faster – my hand-held garment steamer.
If you haven’t tried a steaming vs. ironing yet, you’ll want to keep reading for the details on my Rowenta Steam ‘N Press that’s only $30 at Target!

I got the idea for this post while I was at the beach this past week. I literally went straight from Houston (for Nordstrom Anniversary shopping) to Watercolor Florida, so not only did I have beach clothes packed up in a suitcase, I had sweaters, booties, and LOTS of hanging clothes. Without my steamer with me, I would have probably spent the entire week just climbing up and down the beach house stairs to find the ironing board…
Packing a hand-held steamer is my absolute favorite travel hack. I’ve tried three different steamers over the past few years and NEVER travel without one now. I like Rowenta Steam ‘N Press especially for travel because of how compact and lightweight it is aka more room in my suitcase. It’s also a combination of iron and steamer in one! Literally takes up less space than a blow dryer in your suitcase. It heats up in seconds, and you don’t have to worry about weird black stuff coming out of it all over your white shirt – looking at you cheap hotel iron.
Best part you guys, the Rowenta Steam ‘N Press is available at Target for only $29.99!
I’m always trying on online orders at home, prepping for blog posts and putting outfits together. And all of this takes places right in my bedroom in front of my floor mirror. I like to give all of the items a quick wrinkle passover right off the bat. This really helps me evaluate quality, material and fit and helps me decide which items I want to share on my blog.
From here, I decide which pieces to keep or send back and move the items to appropriate clothing racks. Then, when I’m ready to wear the outfit for outfit photos and real life events, all it needs is a quick steam to refresh it. This process has really helped me get dressed faster and cut down the time it takes to pick out what to wear!
(I also swear by using all velvet hangers. It was a life-changer for my closet and clothing racks.)
Thank you to Rowenta for sponsoring today’s post. As always all opinions and styling are my own.
