As you might have seen, Jenn from Haute Off the Rack and I went to Houston recently for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. (No Nordstroms in Louisiana y’all!) Outside of all of the shopping we did, we ate a ton of amazing food as we discovered new restaurants. So, I thought it would be fun to put together a little Houston trip recap. I’m sharing where we stayed and each of the delicious meals – as well as where to shop and satisfy your sweet tooth!

Where We Stayed
We stayed three nights in the newly renovated Four Seasons in downtown Houston. You guys, the reno is gorgeous! I’m talking marble walls and the most beautiful mid-century vibes in the lobby/lounge. Our suite was more than enough room for all of our bags – we don’t travel light – plus all of our Anniversary Sale shopping bags! It literally looked like we were going to stay for three weeks, and believe me, I might have just done that if I could have, haha.
I also want to talk about the room service because A. It’s not often you get amazing hotel food and B. It’s not often you get amazing hotel coffee. Not only was the food delicious, they were able to accommodate dietary restrictions – almond milk and gluten free toast! The hotel also includes a downstairs restaurant and bar lounge with food service.
Where We Ate
This place. Y’all. If you love tacos, this is the place for you. There are over 30+ taco combinations to try at Tacodeli. While we weren’t able to try all 30 of them, we did share 6 different ones. I think we could all agree that the Cowboy taco was our favorite followed by the shrimp and fish tacos. And don’t miss out on the guac and freshly made frescas!
If you’re in the mood to go Greek but with an ultra cool vibe, try Helen in the Heights. We let our waiter lead our decisions for the night, and he did not steer us wrong! The village salad was one of the freshest veggie dishes, and you have to try the zucchini chips! I must also mention the drink menu that was filled with some really fun cocktail mixtures.
Rosé and raw oysters. I mean you’re basically taking two of my favorite things and placing them in the most beautifully styled restaurant. We went to State of Grace for Happy Hour in their raw bar area where we snacked on appetizers like the crab claws and hushpuppies sprinkled with powdered sugar. It was nothing short of delectable and posh!
We used to have a Ninfa’s Mexican restaurant in Baton Rouge, but it was recently bought out by another brand. So I’ve been pining away for some of Mama Ninfa’s green sauve and a big ol’ Ninfarita swirled with sangria. They hand-make all of the tortillas and just writing about it has my stomach growling!
Where We Shopped
Since the reason for our trip was to prep for the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, we basically set up shop in the Nordstrom at the Galleria. (I know that store like the back of my hand now!) We also took some breaks for some pampering – I hopped next door to the nail salon for a fresh coat of polish.
While we spent the majority of our time in the Houston Galleria, we also hit up Rice Village for Sprinkles! The most delicious cupcakes + ice cream shake combos for the ultimate sweet tooth. There is also tons of shopping to be done here if you want to pop into the many curated stores.
