In case you missed my first juice cleanse review post, you can see it HERE + my post about why I first decided to try a juice cleanse HERE. In terms of online juice cleanses, I have tried Juice From the Raw twice now, and I have been happy with the fresh delivery and the juices both times! (Available on Amazon too.)
Before this past cleanse, I was drinking one to two juices a day to help transition into the full swing of things. My go-to daily juices that are pretty easy to work into any daily schedule are a sweet greens juice and a beet and/or carrot juice – normally called a root juice. My advice – start your cleanse on a weekday like Monday so that you aren’t faced with all of the weekend temptations!
Monday | Day One:
I always start my day off with a coffee, so starting off the morning with the Juice From The Raw Cashew Coffee is a delicious option. It’s not as strong as the coffee I normally drink, so I add my cold-brew to it so that I don’t crash later in the day. Juice two is always the hardest for me. It’s the spicy lemonade with cayenne pepper and maple syrup. I CANNOT make myself like this juice. I never finish a full bottle – always about half before I move on to my green juice.
The sweet greens juice is never hard for me to drink, but it’s also not quite as filling as my usual mid-morning snack. This is where I cheated and ate cashews and almonds. I figure they are raw, so it can’t be THAT bad, right? I was actually kind of excited because the Juice From the Raw Pineapple Mint juice is my FAVORITE. I also really like root juices that are beet based, so dinner time wasn’t that bad.
Around 8-9 pm, I was feeling hangry, but not the I-want-tacos kind of hangry. Just a little uneasy and wishing I could chew… anything. I ate some carrots and went to bed early – like 9 pm early because Jordan made dinner and the house smelled delicious. Day One was FAR easier this time around than my very first cleanse when I wanted to faceplant at 2 pm. I attribute it to getting used to integrating juice into my normal routine before starting – definitely made the transition easier.
My tip for Day 1 – If you have to cheat, make sure it’s an acceptable raw food.

Tuesday | Day Two
Because I went to bed early, I was feeling very rested and ready to start the day. I wasn’t phased by having to crack open another bottle of juice. Same set of juices, new day. I got this. I also had my mid-morning almond and cashew snack. By this time, I’m starting to think that was the magic formula. Just throw in a small but acceptable cheat snack, so that you get to chew something.
I didn’t finish all of the juices on Day 2. It was taking longer and longer to finish them, but I made sure to finish my favorite ones. By the that afternoon, I just wanted to take a nap anywhere. Maybe even lay on the ground. So tired. I went to bed early again because I was convinced my dog was taunting me by eating his rawhide treats in front of me. By this time, feeling slightly hungry was the new normal, and I didn’t have any hangry outbursts, so I was feeling good about going into Day 3.
My tip for Day 2 – Go to bed early because you will want to cheat and eat food.
Wednesday | Day 3
You guys, Day 3 is always the worst day for me. It’s like you’re so close, yet so far from chewing normal food again. It will either motivate you to keep going, or you’re going to give in. I fueled up with coffee to try to keep myself going strong until at least early afternoon. By mid-afternoon I was making a mental list of the foods that I was looking forward to eating again. Shockingly, when I was able to eat on Thursday, I wasn’t quick to jump back into those bad foods. I wanted to continue being conscious about my meal decisions, and it was healthy jumpstart for cleaner eating.
I did make it through the cleanse all three days without having a meltdown! I did cheat and have some smart snacks which might have helped though. I’ve even decided to keep drinking juice during the day as a normal part of my routine. Integrating at least one juice daily has helped me make smarter food decisions over the past few weeks.
Day 3 Tip: Stay strong and fuel up.
I’d love to hear if you guys have tried a cleanse and/or have any tips on completing them! I hear some people even do week long cleanses – not there yet – but would love to hear more about that experience!
