With spring underway, there’s nothing as imperative as having soft, smooth skin to accompany all the flirty dresses and breezy skirts I’ve been stocking up on. And there’s just something about silky skin that makes me feel more confident in these summer pieces.
Although lotions and oils are great solutions for treating your skin, there’s an important step we often overlook: shaving. So, I wanted to share one of my tips to get a long-lasting, smooth shave if you have sensitive skin – like me. (Shaving foams give me awful razor burn on my lower legs!) My sister introduced me to eos Sensitive Shave Cream years ago, and it has literally changed my legs. Read on to find out why you should be using it and how you can get a long-lasting, smooth shave!
Ps. And after you shave, get the perfect sunless tan with my tips in this post!

Treat the areas you want to shave
I’ve learned that shaving isn’t a simple process of hopping into the shower and getting started. Preparation is so important. It’s easier to achieve a smooth, clean shave when your legs and underarms are soft and moisturized. You can achieve this first by dampening the areas you want to shave with warm water so that the hair follicles soften and become easier to trim down. Next, create a moisturizing barrier so your razor can easily glide over your body. The eos Sensitive Shave Cream is perfect because it creates that barrier, but also penetrates the skin for maximum moisture.
Focus on moisture
One of the reasons I adore the the eos Sensitive Shave Cream so much is that it’s so hydrating. It’s also free of harsh ingredients and irritating fragrances, which are often the cause of rashes and in-grown hairs. Instead, it’s comprised of effective ingredients I love like natural aloe, oat, & antioxidants. Because of the formulation, this shaving cream doesn’t foam up like traditional ones. It feels more like a lotion, which I personally find more effective and non-irritating. I’m still so surprised by how soft and smooth my skin feels every time I shave – and how long the feeling lasts with this cream.
Take your time
Like any beauty routine, you end up with better results when you take your time. This can mean scheduling time to soak in a bath and pamper yourself longer. Try varying your shave with long and short strokes rather than rushing it with long strokes. I find that I’m able get a more precise shave this way. And because this product is a thick cream rather than a foam, you can shave wet or dry. It’s a great opportunity to take advantage of if you don’t have a ton of time to spare. Plus, it’s so rich and moisturizing both ways. The eos Sensitive Shave Cream also smells amazing, making the whole process feel more therapeutic and relaxing.
