This has just been a huge football weekend – yesterday was a long day of college football and today’s post is celebrating the New Orleans Saints’ first NFL game of the season! I’m part of a group of Southern bloggers who got together to share our best black and gold style on this beautiful Sunday morning. Be sure to check out their posts – I’ve listed them at the end!
I can’t think of a better black and gold piece to wear than this super girly and super fun skirt by Jolie & Elizabeth. It made me want to twirl around all day. It’s got the cutest gold piping, and perhaps best of all, it has great pockets for carrying little extras. With the skirt, I wore a Blu Pepper shirt with gold stud buttons. It’s light and comfortable fabric make it a great choice for any game day.
Accessory time – I wore the biggest chunk of gold right around my neck with this stunning Carolee necklace. The toggle closure and thick chain make it an eye-catching piece. On my arms, I have my two favorite black beaded bracelets; one by Marlyn Schiff and one by Fredrick Prince. And you’ll also see a new black watch (I’ve been wanting one of these really badly), and this one is by Lolly. BUT there’s something about it you can’t see from these photos – it has a built in SCENT. The watch actually smells. The Lolly Sentanite black watch has a scent of black currant, and it smells great!!
What are your go-to pieces for cheering on the Saints? Any black and gold favorites?

Okay, so BEFORE I tell you where all of these pieces are from, I want you to just GUESS. Take a second look and have a name in your head. Because these are staple fall pieces that you’ll be seeing all over the place – quilted fabric, leather (or leather-like material), sophisticated heels and buckled booties all at really decent prices. Think you got it figured out? Click on any of the items listed below to find out if you got the brand right…
Left to Right clockwise:
1. (Minus the) Leather seamed top
2. Lace cropped top
3. Buckle back wedge bootie
4. Color block cross body satchel
5. Quilted skater dress
6. Ribbed hem drawstring track pant
7. Pointed cap toe t-strap pump
8. Faux suede sleeve knit jacket
Ok – anyone surprised? Everything up there is from Express. Like Express in the mall. I think my jaw dropped when I randomly came across their site and started clicking away on everything that I wanted. Not to mention, Express seems to have a lot of sales (Labor Day everything was 40% off.) I did pick up one of the items up there which you might be seeing very soon… And the rest is on my wishlist – for now.

Football is here! This weekend is LSU’s first home game, so this post is devoted to wearing the purple and gold. (And even if you’re not a Tiger fan, this color combo is a really fun one for fall.)
L.Mae Boutique is a great stop for game day clothing – the online boutique has a search by color option making it super easy to find your college colors. In this case, I picked out the animal print tank in purple and gold by Greylin and paired it with a mustard skirt. These two pieces will be perfect for September football weather (or heat as we are experiencing here in Louisiana).
Another must for football game days – a small purse. I’m always opting for crossbodies or something light and easy to carry. This wristlet by Hobo is all you really need to take into the game. There’s an inside pocket that’s sized to fit your phone, and it has slits for all your cards and cash. The last thing you need when walking from tailgate to tailgate is a bulky bag, so save your shoulder all the weight and switch to the wrist.
Additionally, I was counting down the days until September when it was seasonally appropriate to break out some booties. This time around, I wanted to go in a totally new direction. Last year, I had the typical suede, zip up short boots, but I really wanted to try lace-up booties ever since visiting Paris this summer. I never gave them a second thought until saw this amazingly chic Parisian girl wearing lace-up boots with skinny jeans. Ever since then, I’ve been looking for the perfect pair (with a reasonable price tag) – and I found them at Steve Madden.
Are you game day ready? What are you guys wearing this weekend?

UPDATE: These Steve Madden booties are BACK and available this year!!

I have SO many photos from WWDMAGIC to go through this weekend and use to plan my full recap posts, but in the meantime, here are some of my favorite images and a little snippet about what was going on this past week:
1. My official badges for Magic. I couldn’t go anywhere without these!
2. The view of part of the Central Hall from the BCBGeneration skybox. Just a glimpse at how the booths were set up – some were pretty elaborate.
3. Met up with the Candy Apple girls who are busy buying for their new boutique opening in September! So fun seeing some of the things they were scooping up.
4. BCBGeneration affirmation bracelets that we made during out blogger event with the brand.
5. I made the signage board y’all!
6. Q&A session with Joyce Azria – creative director for BCBGeneration.
(Can you tell there’s going to be a big post on a certain brand coming up? Stay tuned next week!)

There’s really nothing easier than the perfect romper – comfortable but still chic, versatile and easy to get in and out of . Because seriously, some of them are just flat out impossible.
This Umgee USA romper is sort of essential for me. I love the longer sleeves because I’m always cold. It’s in a light cotton making it super comfy to lounge around in but also looks nice enough to dress up for a night out. That’s exactly why it made it to Vegas with me for MAGIC market. Not to mention, Umgee USA will be on the floor, so I’ll be stopping by the booth to get to know the brand further. Since they are a wholesale company, you can find their clothes online in great online boutiques like Winter Lennon, The Florida House, and even Zulily.
You’ll also notice that I’m back in Shutini with new colored straps and a new way to tie them. I recently realized the shoes are great if you know you’ll be walking a lot. If the straps start rubbing, all you have to do is tie them differently – major plus for traveling!
