Probably my favorite outfit that I wore during NYFW because: a. I was somewhat warm b. I was somewhat comfortable. Y’all, faux fur is warm (no need for the real thing)!
Keeping it short and sweet today, but I’m taking a fun, calligraphy class tonight, so check social media for those updates and photos! (@KrystalBennett)
So I might not have been able to invite you all to my engagement party, but I can at least show you what I wore! It’s safe to say that I’d been planning this outfit for months – I made sure it was comprised of some of my favorites.
Normally, mesh and snakeskin sound entirely too scandalous for a wedding party, but Charlotte Ronson has this crazy way of taking edgier prints and patterns and transforming them into the most romantic pieces. The fluted, flippy mesh bottom made this dress a must-have for me. I bought this dress months before receiving an invitation to Charlotte’s NYFW FW14 presentation, which I’m pretty sure was a sign that I had to wear this dress to my engagement party. See photos from her presentation in tomorrow’s post!
When trying to figure out accessories for the night, I had a pretty tough time – until I found the Steal the Spotlight triple strand necklace by Kate Spade. It just clicked that yes Krystal, you have to wear Kate Spade. Who else’s accessory collection celebrates love with more fun and playfulness? Which is also why I wore the Emina bag. Seriously, how cute is a ring bag when you’re celebrating your engagement?
And the final icing on the cake were my Kendra Scott jewels which have become my signature pieces lately. There’s hardly a day that goes by when I don’t have at least one of the Brady or Paige rings on. And then bangles on bangles, I mixed the Jordana and the Jenna bracelets.
I had the most magical of outfits on one of my most magical of nights. Thanks to everyone who made it so special!

Because not all of NYFW is walking around in fabulous heels and embarking on glamorous jaunts around the city. I mean let’s be real here, it was freaking 20 degrees and snowing while I was in NYC. For a southern girl, that’s almost unbearable coldness. So, when I saw people literally walking around with open toe shoes, crop tops or really any large amount of leg skin showing, I wanted to yell out ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME. But I get it. It’s fashion week and people want to take fashionable photos outside of the Lincoln Center by streetstyle photogs. But inside, I was really thinking they’d catch some slight case of pneumonia…
My Hunter boots were hands down the most valuable (and safest) set of shoes that I brought with me. People were literally sliding all over the place in their heels and wedges (me included at couple of times), so these definitely came in handy for my down periods of time. I have to admit that before I bought them, I couldn’t justify spending that amount on rain boots, but here we are years later, and I don’t know what I’d do without them some days. Plus, they’re a classic.
Welcome to Part 2 of my Valentine’s Day Style at Home series. I enlisted the help of some of my favorite brands to show you that sometimes you don’t even need to leave home to feel pretty – even if you’re just curled up with a good book! Pamper yourself this weekend with some sweet treats (as linked above) for yourself, and in my case, a few doggie kisses too. Odie turned out to be quite the camera hog this shoot, huh?
