What to Register For – Baking

I will come right out and say this – I am not someone who bakes a lot. I hear people say it’s therapeutic or relaxing, but baking can turn into a stressful event for me. However, Jordan LOVES cookies, brownies and any other type of baked goods. Thus, I have to bake from time to time, so I need essentials to make it even easier than baking already is. I was super lucky to get gifted many fabulous baking pieces off of my registry at my bridal shower. These are the ones that I’ve already put to use and think are necessities for any girl whose future husband has a serious sweet tooth:

    Cake stands of various sizes

Muffin pans of various sizes – I have jumbo, normal and mini!

At least one brownie or cake pan and in my case – donut pan

A dessert stand to display your hard work!

A wide selection of measuring cups

    Dessert or breakfast appliances

I absolutely adore the laid back, charming spring/summer collection by Willow and Clay. Details like beading paired with soft knits make for an understated luxe – which was the inspiration for today’s post. Dressing up to dress down might seem odd, but the finished look is a polished daytime outfit. This Willow and Clay beaded shift would obviously work for a night out or special occasion, but with a little accessory switch, it can also make it out of the closet for some day appearances as well. Pair a beaded dress like this one with chic leather flats. This pair by Ivanka Trump are ladylike with an ankle strap and gold top strap – a great transitional sandal for this season. (I’ve been wearing them everywhere.)

For accessories, I wanted to add in a natural element in these layered quartz necklaces. They act as a unexpected complement to the casual sandals. Wearing your bag as a crossbody instead of a shoulder bag also has a way of seeming more casual. This Rebecca Minkoff MAC can be work either way – one of my favorite handbag purchases ever.

So remember these three ways to repurposing your dressier pieces for casual wear:

    1. A chic leather shoe
    2. Nature inspired jewelry
    3. A crossbody bag

These were super fun to put together, and I had some great brands to help assist with the different outfit pieces – I can’t wait to show you all!

Other that than, I’ll have part two of my “what to register for” posts coming up – I’ll actually have to do some cooking for this one, so that should prove to be interesting. 🙂

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and the celebration of Easter!

This outfit is the epitome of spring for me. Sheer pleats and a lacy crop on the most gorgeous weekend walk. It’s hard not to feel happy when wearing something so sweet.I love how this skirt features double slits allowing it to really catch the wind when it blows. I’m always drawn to this coral, light pink color too which is super flattering on everyone. The crop top gives you an innocent little peak of skin to allow the sunshine to soak in. If I were at Coachella, I’d totally have worn this lace top and bandeau. Can’t you see it with a daisy chain or a flower crown.

I paired my outfit with these sparkly jeweled sandals by Fibi & Clo – absolutely gorgeous when the sun reflects off the stones. These flats would dress up even the most casual of jeans or sundress outfit in an instant. I must admit that they made me feel pretty glamorous and effortless this day.

    Southern Tea Bridal Shower Invitations

I’m sharing my bridal shower invitations with you today! Some of my very closest and oldest friends from back home threw me the most perfect shower two weeks ago. We had big hats, light bites and lots of laughs. I love these ladies and couldn’t imagine growing up with better friends or creating longer lasting friendships.

Originally, we went back and forth about the shower theme – but we knew we wanted to wear hats. Since it was too early in April, the Louisiana Downs race track wasn’t open for races, so we tossed out having a Derby theme. Sooo what better idea than a Southern Tea with high tea attire? (Yep, you’ll see some outfit photos coming up soon from topped off with a fab fascinator.)

My sister, who was also a hostess, made these amazing macarons from scratch! I’ve already submitted a request for batch 2.
