We are on the cusp of one of the biggest travel seasons of the year, so I’ve teamed up with Henri Bendel to share a few tips on how to stay chic and organized for your upcoming holiday travels! You may already know that Henri Bendel offers some seriously beautiful handbags, but you may not be aware that they also carry equally as luxurious holiday travel accessories too!
I realized while looking at these photos just now, that this outfit is basically a combination of all my favorite pieces. Stretchy skinny jeans, a chambray shirt and a comfy pair of sneakers – topped off with a really cool sweatshirt. Side note, I kind of nerded out when I found this Topshop tiger sweatshirt I’m wearing in today’s post. I’ve basically been using any and every excuse lately to wear my white Adidas sneakers, and I knew this sweatshirt would be just the right reason. On a slightly different note, everything that I’m wearing is also available on Nordstrom – I wasn’t exaggerating in my post on Tuesday when I said I shop on Nordstrom.com more than Jordan needs to know about.
Anyway, I knew that the tiger sweatshirt was a good idea since we live in Baton Rouge, and I have an abundance of opportunities to attend sporting events that involve tiger mascots, BUT one of my blogger friends in California just so happened to buy the very same sweatshirt just because it’s really cool – so I’m feeling justified on this one! I also got this chunky knit scarf that’s super long last month for fashion week. Love the color, love the chunky knit and I got so many compliments on it!

So I’ve got to admit, prepping for this February’s fashion week was a bit of a scramble. Especially after the holidays, I was a bit behind with my outfits and packing. I basically had zero time to shop in-store, so I relied on my go-to online retailer for my last minute shopping needs. Nordstromcarries so many brands that hit all of my ideal price points, and I know that when I choose express shipping, I’ll have those items in hand within days. (All of my orders arrived in time to pack for my trip!)
Topshop is one of my favorite brands that offers on-trend items at mid-range prices and was one of my options when trying to find outfits for New York. In fact, most of today’s outfit is from Topshop including my camel and black sweatshirt and suede midi booties.
It actually ended up being too cold for me to wear this outfit in New York. However, these Topshop booties have barely left my feet since they arrived, and you might have already noticed them in last week’s Colorblock Coat post! I had originally planned to this outfit with a caped jacket, but I didn’t need it last week in Baton Rouge. I’ve always been a girl who loves camel and black paired together, so the sweatshirt has me all heart-eye-emoji-face. And a little side note about these boots, they are considered midi booties, but they’re also called “sock” booties because the material fits around your foot like a sock. They are going to be SUPER cute with spring mini dresses!
Fit info: this sweater that I’m wearing is the PETITE size, and I am 5’9.
I wanted it to be a shorter crop over my long button-up top.

I found this really bright, colorblocked coat about a month before fashion week, and I thought it was SO fun and different than anything that I’ve brought with me to NYC before. Okay really, I saw the big pink panel on the back, and then, I knew it was making the trip with me. Little did I know that I’d see this coat pop up all over the place while I was in town! Seems like a lot of other people had the same idea I did – and why not – because it’s a freakin’ fabulous coat with a heck of a good price tag. I spotted this coat on Courtney Kerr and on someone else at the BCBGMAXAZRIA runway show. I’d say those are two pretty legitimate places to see your coat!
Another different thing that I tried out was wearing this ivory knit dress underneath. I’ve never had a sweater dress this long before, so I was iffy about what it might look like. I thought I might look like a super tall ivory crayon, BUT I actually ended up loving this dress so much. It was comfy and warm and I fully plan on wearing it to work with a long vest layered over it. (ASOS has been killing it lately you guys!)

You might have seen my post from this past September when we had the cutest little NYFW blogger brunch with Oasis Fashion. WELL, we had such a great time that we decided to meet up again this past week during February fashion week at Upland which was delicious. I’ve been on this recent brussel sprouts kick – and they have the most amazing brussel sprout PIZZA. I know that sounds incredibly weird, but it was really really good as an appetizer.
I’ve been wanting to try to out the whole pinafore trend, and I thought the Oasis denim pinafore would be really cute to layer with a turtleneck and coat. The camel peacoat that I’m wearing in today’s post is also Oasis and is such a staple winter piece. It just so happened that the day that I wore this outfit, the temps dropped drastically!
I wore tall over the knee socks to help keep my over the knee boots from slipping down. (If you have trouble with your over the knee boots slipping, try wearing tall over the knee socks underneath. They won’t slide nearly as much when you wear the tall socks!) Check out the rest of the post to see a little of what everyone else was wearing + get the product links!
