Finally! I’m spilling all of the details on our private villa in Tuscany today! First and foremost, I cannot take any credit for finding this amazing home perched among the cliffs above Greve in Chianti. Jenn’s (Haute Off the Rack) stepdad found this 20-person villa for their family vacation in Italy, and Jordan and I were lucky enough to snag an extra invite! By the end of the week, we were practically a part of the family ha!

Welcome to Villa Caprolo! As you can see, the grounds are simply stunning with the most beautiful views of Chianti. The main house, chapel and infinity pool are all part of the gated property with an on-site housekeeper. All of our cliffside sunset photos were taken just steps away from the pool. It’s where we spent every evening watching the sun fade with wine in hand – one of my favorite parts of the trip.
Villa Caprolo accommodates up to 20 people, and each bedroom has it’s own connected bathroom. With so many people in the house, we surprisingly still had a lot of privacy. There were so many quiet areas to have your coffee or take in the views. I absolutely love the idea of booking a villa like this one for a family vacation – or even a group of friends.
In terms of location, we were about 40 minutes from Florence and Siena making both of those cities quick day trips. From Venice and Rome (see this post), we were more like 3-4 hours away. We were about 2.5 hours from Cinque Terre (see this post). See my post on how to road trip across Italy here!
Although most days the group split up into different itineraries, we did share many meals all together in our huge dining room. Each night, we’d go around the round table and tell one high and one low from the day. It was a really fun way to recap each day and have a good laugh together – a lot of wine was consumed at this table! One night, we had a pair of cooks come prepare an authentic Italian meal. This is an option offered through the villa and can be arranged by the owner and/or housekeeper. I’d put this down as a MUST – all 3 courses were amazing!!
