I’m back to finish sharing the last five items on my to-do list for fall! Plus, I’ve partnered up with Dansko to help me get fall ready with their Shirley bootie that you’ll see in today’s outfit. Once again, they’ve made the comfiest little fall shoe that’s perfect for your busy weekends and fall activities that’s available now at Dillard’s. This bootie is made of mixed suede and leather and has a subtle wedge heel that goes perfectly with a pair of skinny jeans or leggings. I’m wearing it today with my favorite camo utility jacket, but how cute would the Shirley bootie be with leggings and an oversized poncho?!

This item is weighing heavily on me as I start adding new fall pieces into my closet. I’ve got to go through last year’s pieces to sort into either donate or sell piles. (If you didn’t know, I have an online closet sale with all my gently worn pieces from previous seasons. See it here.) I’ve got to make room for more cozy sweaters because last year, I seriously over-wore a few to the point of no return. Plus, as I add new shoes and booties – like the Dansko Shirley bootie – I also need to go through last year’s shoes. A lot of them have little wear on the bottom, and I know they could find happy new homes with someone who will wear them out!
So stay tuned for a post about when I add new arrivals to my closet sale site!
2. Step my fall home decor up a notch
I’m SO SO bad at decorating for fall. Probably because I love all the little pops of pink that I’ve added in each room, but I’m making it a mission to make things a little more cozy and autumnal around our house this year. I’m heading out later today to find mums for our porch, new florals to pop into vases, a wreath to take us through Thanksgiving, and any other cozy candles or accessories. If I feel successful in this item, I’ll try to put together a post on it!
3. Get an outdoor fire pit and have a s’mores party
I hope Jordan isn’t reading this because I really really tried to find a nice fire pit for him for Christmas last year, but it literally was in the 90s in Baton Rouge last December. So I’m going to get a jumpstart on that this time around so that maybe we can use it this year. I’d love for it to be one of the open flame gas fire pits so we can have a s’mores party!
4. Find every excuse to be outdoors
This one is easy because I tend to complain SO much about how hot it is in Louisiana, so I need to make it a point to get outside and enjoy our fall weather more. Whether it’s taking the dogs for a walk, jogging around the block, making it out to the LSU tailgates or finding restaurants where we can eat outdoors, I’m going to make every effort to be outside this season!
5. Get a head start on my holiday shopping list!
I’m a serial procrastinator, and every single year, I end up behind on my holiday shopping. I really have no idea how it happens – it almost doesn’t even make sense considering I’m always on my computer and putting together holiday guides. But I get so caught up in creating holiday content that I forget to actually shop for people on my list. So far, I think I’m doing pretty well because I’ve already bought one thing, haha!
