It’s the first week of the college football season, so I thought I’d post a little refresher on proper handbags for three different types of fans – the tailgater, the college ticket holder and the NFL ticket holder. Each loves their team, but requires a different variation of bag:

The Tailgater will head out early to enjoy the gameday atmosphere but doesn’t necessarily attend the actual game. For this fan, the size of the bag is no problem, and actually, the bigger the bag, the better. You’ll be able to fit everything needed to successfully tailgate like a durable cup, koozies, sunglasses, snacks, sunscreen, etc. That’s why this monogrammed bag from LLMonograms is perfect for the trendsetting tailgater. They are super lightweight are big enough to fit everything for the day. They come in a ton of colors and monogram options!

The College Ticket Holder will need to check with their stadium’s rules on handbag measurements, but this Gigi New York Madison crossbody is a great size bag that should fit most stadium regulations (for Tiger Stadium at least). This bag is also customizable as you can add a gold monogram, but you will have to limit it’s contents down to strictly the essentials. I picked up the wine color not only for LSU games but also because it’s a gorgeous color for fall. I’ll be able to wear it all season long, gameday or not. (I also love the stone option!)

Up until now, I was on the fence about the new NFL clear bag policy. I mean there really weren’t very many cute options for NFL Ticket Holders – until I saw the new Leigh bag from Flying Fox. They combined the clear bag with gorgeous leather detailing. The adjustable strap allows you to wear it on your shoulder or as a crossbody and actually has a roomy interior. Unlike the hard clear case bags, this one is more pliable and will accommodate a variety of contents.

So which bag will I be using this season – I’ll actually be using all 3. Look out for them in outfit posts starting tomorrow!
