Cargo and Plaid

Booties and plaid shirts are beginning to fill my closet, so it must mean one thing – October is right around the corner. I normally restrict myself from wearing either one of these items until actual October, but this year,  I’ve been wearing booties for weeks now. I’m breaking my own rules! However, I have not fully converted to over-the-knee boots or blanket scarves – although I am seeing a lot of over-ambitious people already sporting them on IG… you know who you are. On the flip side, I’m keeping my plaids and booties super light and transitional as seen in today’s post.

Oversized plaid shirts are my faaaavorite. I love the peach and navy plaid print of this one from ShopbellaC. (To have it a little more oversized, I’m wearing the medium.) The material is light enough to wear now and even for layering. I am once again wearing this cargo vest (last seen here) – I’m trying to win the Vest Dressed award this season y’all. Another thing that I love about this shirt is that the sleeves are actually three quarter length, so you can roll them without them being incredibly bunchy or tight around your elbow. Clever!

I posted these booties on my Instagram this morning (@apinchoflovely) – which is normally a slower time for interaction, but MAN did you guys love these gray booties. Over a thousand of you liked the bootie photo in just one hour which means I should probably give you some additional information on them as well as how they fit. Just like rompers, I always size up in booties. The absolute worst is getting booties and trying to stuff your socked foot inside only to find that it’s super uncomfortable, so I always go a half-size up! In this case, they are absolutely perfect. I wore them for the first time at work on Friday, and not single moment of new shoe pain or discomfort. BUT with all of my Elaine Turner shoes, all of them are super super comfortable. They are doing something incredible to their shoes in the ET design studio. I wear her shoes all of the time to work which totally justifies the higher cost to me. Not to mention, they are classic and beautifully made shoes. LOVE the gold detailing on the back of these booties.

As always – let me know if you have any additional questions on the fit of any items in my posts – [email protected]!
