This is a bit of a different post for me, BUT like I said in my resolutions post, I want to provide you guys with more content of value this year. One of the priorities on my list is to get more REAL about my daily life and a look at my normal routine. So why not include a peek into my fridge and my newly adopted clean eating grocery list?
I don’t often post about my diet – this is something that I think is so private and personal for a lot of people. The last thing I want to do is make you feel like what you’re eating is WRONG. I think it’s important for everyone to listen to their bodies when it comes to making informed food decisions.
I have a sensitive stomach and several food allergies (gluten and dairy specifically) which is why I chose to start the year by adopting clean eating habits. The months of November and December had me eating SO poorly and making the worst food choices for my system. I was tired, unmotivated, unproductive – walking around in basically a fog. Bad food decisions were impacting me in BIG ways.
In today’s post, I’m outlining easy food swaps that I made in our fridge, my clean eating grocery list, and how it’s changed the way I feel!
Last week, I discussed giving our house a fresh start with new wall art, but I’ve been seriously sidetracked with all the NEW 2018 home decor collections as well as all the home SALES that are currently happening. I’ve basically been putting together a major wishlist and getting lost in Pinterest-y worthy rooms. If your house is looking a little sad after packing up the holiday decorations, this post is for you! Below you’ll find some of the items that I’m crushing hard on right now + a list of my favorite spots for fresh home decor updates!
New Years Day marks the end of our holiday celebrations, and chances are you might need to just take a little “me time.” After all, the holidays are joyful, but they’re also pretty stressful. During the week between Christmas and New Years, you basically lose all sense of space and time, am I right? Routine disruption can really throw you for a loop – I know I’m definitely feeling it. Just in time for 2018, I teamed up withU.S. Highbush Blueberry Council and SIMPLY to put together a list of my favorite ways to hit refresh after the holidays!
Last Friday was CRAZY y’all – we had an unexpected snow storm blow right through Baton Rouge! It was pretty cool waking up to a winter wonderland, and because Louisiana isn’t used to icy roads, most businesses were closed for the day. No complaints from this girl for getting to spend the day in our pajamas and slippers! (It was so nice having Jordan at home for the day too!) The snow might have already melted, but I’m still living my best fuzzy slipper life and dreaming of these cozy gift ideas from Nordstrom in today’s post.
Sometimes blog post ideas come from the most random places! The idea for today’s spiked hot chocolate bar post came about after one fated trip to World Market. I came home with 4 different hot chocolate types, snowflake marshmallows and – Kringle Kream. I didn’t know what it was at the time, it just literally sounded like liquid icing. And after documenting this trip on Instagram Stories, I got SO many responses and questions in regards to my hot chocolate supplies!
Not only did you have expert hot chocolate advice, you had recipes and tips for perfecting the perfect cocoa consistency and heat. And you proved that I’ve been drinking hot chocolate ALL wrong my entire life. Sharing my spiked hot chocolate bar cart and YOUR cocoa tips and tricks in today’s full post!
