Last Friday was CRAZY y’all – we had an unexpected snow storm blow right through Baton Rouge! It was pretty cool waking up to a winter wonderland, and because Louisiana isn’t used to icy roads, most businesses were closed for the day. No complaints from this girl for getting to spend the day in our pajamas and slippers! (It was so nice having Jordan at home for the day too!) The snow might have already melted, but I’m still living my best fuzzy slipper life and dreaming of these cozy gift ideas from Nordstrom in today’s post.
Sometimes blog post ideas come from the most random places! The idea for today’s spiked hot chocolate bar post came about after one fated trip to World Market. I came home with 4 different hot chocolate types, snowflake marshmallows and – Kringle Kream. I didn’t know what it was at the time, it just literally sounded like liquid icing. And after documenting this trip on Instagram Stories, I got SO many responses and questions in regards to my hot chocolate supplies!
Not only did you have expert hot chocolate advice, you had recipes and tips for perfecting the perfect cocoa consistency and heat. And you proved that I’ve been drinking hot chocolate ALL wrong my entire life. Sharing my spiked hot chocolate bar cart and YOUR cocoa tips and tricks in today’s full post!
This post has been sponsored Hallmark. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Part of the wonder of the holiday season is creating sentimental and whimsical traditions with our families. Over the years, Jordan and I have started a few new traditions of our own while also continuing those that we grew up enjoying. One of those family holiday traditions is Jordan refusing to let me put up our Christmas tree until the day after Thanksgiving. (Sigh, still losing this battle.) BUT, I have found a way to get around it by bringing the holidays home in other ways with Hallmark.
See why the Hallmark brand will always be one of my favorite family holiday traditions in today’s full post!
With fashion week coverage all over the internet right now, it’s easy to feel runway inspired! But what about in your own home? Capri Blue – my favorite home fragrance brand – is an exclusive partner of this year’s NYFW shows. I’ve teamed up with them to share how my Capri Blue candles display a bit of fashion week glam around our house every day! Not to mention – they smell UNREAL and the gilded jars can be reused as beautiful containers when they’re finished. Sharing ways to reuse them in the full post!
Ps. Another special thing to note about Capri Blue candles – they’re made in the South. Like literally right down the interstate from me in Starkville, MS. SO much love for my southern brands!

Sparkles and embellishments are going to be huge for fall, and I love how the Capri Blue candles are the perfect amount of glitz that you might find in fashion accessories this season. Statement pieces are always in style!
A ritual I have before the start of any new season is purging my closet. While we are on the cusp of early fall months, I want to encourage you guys to do a little summer cleaning! Not only does a clean closet give you major feel-good vibes, it also makes it so much easier to get dressed! (Not to mention, it makes room for fall new arrivals!) So in today’s full post, I’ll be sharing a few of my tips on how to clean out your closet + methods for keeping it organized.
UPDATE: In light of Hurricane Harvey’s devastation, I’m purging my closet for a cause! All of the items not practical for donation will be listed on my Closet Sale site with all proceeds going to Houston women’s charities. Items to be added over the next few days!
