5 Winter Haircare Tips for Healthier Tresses

Winter is almost here, which means it’s time to shake up your beauty routine. One of the things I always need to change out is my haircare products. As the season often brings dry winds and frigid temperatures, my hair and scalp can suffer from a variety of issues such as static, split ends, dryness, flakes and loss of moisture. Since this is also a time when I want my hair to be in prime condition for all the holiday festivities, I take a few preventative measures to nourish it. Luckily, effective haircare products don’t have to be super expensive. I just added Head & Shoulders Calming Lavender Shampoo and Conditioner and wanted to tell you guys all about it. Keep scrolling for a full review plus my favorite winter haircare tips.

3 Travel-Friendly Face Masks For Better Winter Skin

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Olay. The opinions and text are all mine.

The holidays are a super busy time for everyone with travel often ramping up. And as I’m sure you know, traveling can do a number of unpleasant things to your skin, especially in the winter. For example, greater exposure to bacteria and the lack of humidity in the air, can result in dry, dehydrated, and dull skin. (Ever looked in the mirror and thought your skin looked gray?!) If you’re looking for the perfect solution to keep your complexion in shape as you’re on the go, travel-friendly face masks are a saving grace. I recently shared the new Clay Stick Masks by Olay and brought them to Vermont with me. And I love that the solid stick form makes them a whole lot more convenient to pack in your carry-on bags! Read on to find out which ones you need.

    Baby Pinch Coming 2019!

I’ve tried to start writing this blog post so many times and struggled to find the words to describe the feeling I have sharing our growing news with all of you today! It’s the biggest mixture of excitement and nervousness all rolled into one. At the same time, it’s also a huge sigh of relief that I can FINALLY make it official because we’ve been keeping it hush hush for so long… Baby Pinch is coming March 2019! (Y’all it’s hard keeping this big of a secret!)

One of the parts that I’m looking forward to the most is sharing this adventure with you guys, connecting with all my mom friends out there, and hopefully being a resource for those who are also starting this journey at the same time! Overall, we feel so blessed with the opportunity to be parents and cannot wait to start this chapter.

I know there are probably some questions, so I’m going to try to answer a lot that I’ve already been getting from family and friends!

How and When Did We Find Out

We found out in mid-July! (Yep, it was torture being in Napa in August and not being able to drink the wine…) I had a feeling the entire week that something wasn’t normal, but I waited until an already scheduled OBGYN appointment the following week for an official test. Jordan found out when he got home and the dogs were wearing balloons that spelled out BABY. Odie (our mini dachshund) wore the B and the A, and Buck (our yellow lab) wore the B and the Y. 🙂

Did You Have Any Fertility Issues?

I knew from the start that I would be very open about this with you guys. I was undergoing my very first month of Serophene to help raise my progesterone production. When I had my initial blood work done, my progesterone level came back at 750 when my doctor wanted me to be at 1200-1500 for optimal egg production. We know how incredibly LUCKY we are to have our first treatment be successful. Even just one month of medicine involved a lot of lab visits and needles, and not knowing if it would work was a very real and scary thing. (Lots of hugs and positive vibes to anyone reading this who might be going through their own fertility treatments.)

Why Wait SO Long to Tell?!

Everyone has their own level of comfort when it comes to sharing, and we chose to be overly protective as we continued testing my hormone levels and going in for our routine check ups. Once we hit 12 weeks, we talked about how we would first tell our closest family members and friends. It was really important for us to be able to tell as many people as possible in person. (With our families so spread out, this basically turned into a road trip across the state at the beginning of this month!) Will be sharing in a blog post how we surprised everyone!

    How Are You Feeling? Cravings?

I’m going to devote an entire post to my first trimester experience! Thankfully, I’m now finally feeling back to my normal self except for a slightly tighter pants…

Do You Know If It’s a Boy or Girl?

    Not yet! 😉

Thank you guys for all of your love and support over the years – I can’t wait to ask YOU guys questions and learn from all of you mamas out there!
