Once again, I procrastinated finding outfits to wear to New York Fashion Week this month. It sneaks up on me EVERY time. A week beforehand, I’m always scrambling to throw together a few fashion-y outfits that are cool but also still… me. This time around I knew that I wanted to dress a little more casual (like I mentioned in yesterday’s post), so I thought the raw hem jean trend was the perfect way to marry casual and cool into one outfit. This is where Nordstrom comes through in the clutch! On-trend, budget-friendly and quick shipping – always keeps me from having a Fashion Police type moment in New York.
I still can’t believe that this September was my sixth time at New York Fashion Week! A lot has changed over those six seasons, and I think it’s an understatement to say that the tone (as well as the locations) have changed a LOT. The shows were more spread out than ever before, and the presence of bloggers was at an all-time high! Chatting more about how my trip this season was different than any other year and my new approach to NYFW in today’s full post.
The other day, I was trying to count how many times I’ve been to New York City. This past fashion week was my 10th time in the Big Apple – I couldn’t believe it y’all! Needless to say, I’ve learned quite a lot along the way when it comes to NYC airports, public transportation and maneuvering around the city in general after much duress. So I thought that it would be perfect to share my top 3 NYC travel tips in case anyone was planning fall or winter visits this year! (Already planning a return trip for fall!) I’ve teamed up with Sofft on this post because their Somers slip-on sneaker is hands-down my favorite airport shoe! Plus, this year it totally saved my feet in between fashion week shows and meetings!
I wanted to share my New York Fashion Week recap (finally a week later!) now that I’ve gotten home and back in front of my computer! I’ve outlined where we stayed, where we ate, my favorite activities – and one of my outfit’s too!Plus, stay tuned for a post dedicated to my favorite trends seen during fashion week coming later this week!
Because I’ve made it more of a priority to connect on Instagram with more bloggers’ accounts (to establish more of a community for myself), I recently noticed the amount of people who have hopes and dreams of coming to NYFW themselves. But it’s not as hard as you might think! I came to my first fashion week with less than 10k Instagram followers and in the beginning stages of my blog. Granted, I wasn’t sitting front row and getting invited to all of the exclusive events, I was here and present and soaking up all of the fashion week experiences. Being in NYC for fashion week is totally manageable and attainable if you follow the right steps and set your expectations accordingly, so I’m outlining them in today’s full post – as well as sharing these killer flare jeans that I packed with me!
