    The Plaid for Spring

Yep, believe it, I’m already throwing around the word spring. A. Because it’s 70 degrees in Louisiana this week and B. Because I gave myself a sinus infection going between the temperature differences of Baton Rouge and New York City. NOT COOL winter weather. My sinus infection means I’m officially over winter anything. Let’s move on shall we?

Plus, I have so many new spring pieces to start playing around with – why not start now? Gigi New York is launching their Casey saddle bag in gray leather today! Gray is always a great shade to integrate into outfits now because you can pair it with both your winter neutrals and your new-for-spring brights. I’m loving these gray skinny jeans that I found in Cella’s Boutique in Nola. This bright plaid button-down was also a new arrival that Cella’s had in-store. I’ve been really into plaid this year, so this new spring plaid will be a good way for me to transition out of my buffalo plaid habits.

Let’s talk about sneakers because I’ve been wearing a lot lately. I think I may have overdosed on booties the past few months, so I’ve been throwing in a sneaker or two to liven things up. I think I literally wore booties every single day for a month straight… Easy sneaks like patterned slip-ons are going to be big on my wishlist for spring. I loved these Blu Kicks slip-ons because they are a silvery snake print pattern are super comfy. When I got them in the mail, I tried them on and ended up just wearing them around the house for the rest of the night. That’s how you know you got a pair of winners.

Valentine’s Day Glam + A Weekend Sales List

Happy Valentine’s Day! I wore this Waldrip NYC midi skirt recently and thought it would be the perfect atypical Valentine’s day outfit post. I paired it with a striped crop top and baby pink envelope clutch. And meanwhile I’m sitting in NYC in negative eight degree weather realizing that wearing this outfit would be a total DREAM right now. I have on tights under my jeans that are under two pair of socks. Pretty Valentine’s Day outfits were not in the cards for me today, so I’m living vicariously through my own outfit photos!

I’m BOOKING it home tomorrow and might be pulling this skirt back out on Friday for my BFF’s rehearsal dinner. I’m thinking about pairing it with a solid black top and a statement necklace? And speaking of statement makers, if you click through to the full post, I have some detail shots of an awesome new Baublebar statement ring that I’m loving right now. I brought it to NYFW with me, but you know… the whole gloves in winter thing.

Also in today’s full post is a round-up of my favorite holiday weekend sales that you’ll want to check out before they end tonight and tomorrow! xo

    A Little Bit Country

This post is kind of like a milestone because I’m wearing my first EVER pair of cowboy boots. Okay so they’re not the full-fledged tall boots with elaborate designs, but they are handmade in Texas – so that makes them cowboy official right? Meet my little Tecovas Penny cowboy booties. (They aren’t really called cowboy booties, I kinda just made that up.) They really are the cutest things ever, and I was surprised at how comfortable they are! The leather is super soft, and it felt like my feet just melted into them. Is that what cowboy boots are normally like? Why didn’t I get a pair earlier?

Are you guys tired of seeing my white jeans yet? Sorry…

I’m also really kind of obsessed with this wrap front sweater that I snagged from ShopbellaC. It drapes across the front creating a criss-cross high-low top. I literally opened it and wore it right out the door on the way to dinner the day I got it. For similar styles in other colors, check the Shop the Post widget below! And I hope you aren’t tired of this Rebecca Minkoff tassel crossbody yet – I know I’ve been a little post happy with it lately on IG. : /

    Dark Denim Days

We here entering that awkward period of time known as late summer when no one is quite sure what to wear, so I teamed up with Hand In Pocket boutique to talk about the staples you can incorporate into your wardrobe to make sure you transition into a new season seamlessly! The one thing I always go through first in my closet is my denim – I weed out the styles that I didn’t wear at all last year and then take note of the ones I do want to add. You always need a great, go-to pair of jeans that you know will work every time. My DL1961 white skinnies were absolute favorites of mine this spring/summer, so in today’s post I’m wearing their Florence jeans in Pulse from Hand In Pocket boutique! I also picked out this amazing boho poncho and textured jacket – and the best part – you can get 20% off HIP with code “lovely20” an exclusive code for you guys!

Who doesn’t love designer denim on sale?!

One of the several reasons that I continue to love HIP is that their brand selection and variety of styles are always impressive! There are so many great new arrivals that I also have my eye on that I might be using that 20% off code on… like that Ella Moss vest for example. OH and I love that they include the brand names in their captions so that you know what size you wear in those brands. Be sure to check out the Hand In Pocket website for more awesome fall options!
