Last month, I got to be a part of a DREAM trip with Lilly Pulitzer to celebrate their new “Lilly Pulitzer Cottage” at White Elephant Nantucket! Ever since visiting the island for a quick day trip two summers ago, I’ve been dying to get back to it’s beautiful hydrangea-filled yards and charming homes. Along with Jen from Style Charade, Brittany from Loverly Grey and Jenn from Haute Off the Rack, we were able to experience the best of Nantucket, and I’m here to spill all the details in today’s post! If you’re planning an upcoming trip or hope to get there one day, keep reading for my Nantucket travel guide!
Where is Nantucket and How to Get There:
Nantucket is an island right off the eastern peninsula of Massachusetts known as Cape Cod. There are two ways to get there: take a high-speed ferry (about an hour ride from Hyannis port) or fly directly into the very small airport (on a very small plane) directly onto the island. What they say is true y’all – sometimes the best places to visit are the ones that take a little longer to get to!
I recently introduced you guys to one of my new favorite brands, Nordstrom 1901, here but had a few more summer outfit ideas I wanted to share. You guys know I love my trying new trends and bold accessories, but sometimes, I just want to simplify. And that requires getting down to one striking detail to spruce up your summer look. For me, that’s been tie waist and bow tie details! Unsurprisingly, there’s plenty to be found in the 1901 collection. Click through to see more ways to spruce up your summer looks!
How many of you are shopping for upcoming summer activities? I just love this time of the year and all the festivities that come with it. I’ve teamed up with Vineyard Vines to put together some ridiculously cute outfit ideas for the upcoming July 4th holiday – such a classic brand for summer!
I’ve always considered Vineyard Vines to be a one-stop shop for the perfect southern wardrobe, and I finally got to experience it for myself! You guys might remember my Cape Cod trip from a few weeks ago – and it was basically a Southern belle’s dream come true! From touring Marthas’s Vineyard to visiting the first Vineyard Vines location, I have never been been so excited to see stashes of perfectly preppy and casual staples that I can wear year-round. The styles and colors fare out particularly well for July 4 because you can look festive yet chic no matter where you’re headed.

As a blogger, there are so many fashion trends I love and can get on board with, but I always fall back on a few styles that are timeless and chic. I’m realizing more through the years that there is one fashion trend that never goes out of style – and that is preppy style. It’s a look I can wear time after time and never get bored. Some of my favorite preppy essentials include pleats, stripes, smart tailoring, and oxford shirts, which look great on everyone. And there’s a new contender in town that’s taking my closet by storm:1901, a Nordstrom exclusive.
What makes 1901 so unique is its classic and preppy aesthetic with a trend-right twist. Read on to get my favorite pieces from the collection!
HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SUMMER! It only seemed right to start off the new season with my summer bucket list. I’ve already checked off the first one – because last year I waited too late to visit the sunflower fields and missed them. We ventured out this morning not knowing if we were too early or if they’d be too short for photos, but oh my goodness, they are gigantic already! (If you’re in Baton Rouge, you’ll probably want to head out soon to see them!) Other items on my list are just fun ways to play tourist in my own city or any other city really. I wanted my list to be fairly easy (no pressure to complete) but also make me smile as I checked each one off. 🙂
Have you guys put together your own summer bucket list or do you have something I should add? Let me know in the comments below or on my Instagram!
