One thing that everyone forgot to mention when I asked for advice about going on a cruise – the amount of WALKING that I’d be doing. I swear if I had a FitBit, I would have been able to tell you the exact amount of steps I took a day – but I’m estimating like 40 billion. Okay maybe not, but it felt like it. Being on the world’s third biggest boat has it’s pluses like the 20 different places to eat and the 4 different pool areas, but you’re going to get your walking in! So thank goodness I packed these Dansko sandals which are by far the comfiest shoes that I brought on the ship. My room was at the very front of the ship, and Jenn’s was at the very back which meant a lot of marathon walks!
Our Dillard’s in Baton Rouge has one of the BEST shoe departments ever, and they carry the Dankso brand which is known for being durable and comfortable. Having a sandal that didn’t mean I had to sacrifice comfort was majorly important for me this trip, since I had no clue how much walking would be involved! This exact sandal is called the Pamela sandal in taupe, and it features pretty beaded detailing. It’s also available in black too!
One of the days that we were out to sea the entire day, I knew I was going to do a lot of walking, so I wore my Dansko sandals with these Laundry by Shelli Segal black resort pants that are also SO comfortable. (My halter swimsuit top is also Laundry by Shelli Segal – a brand that also just happens to be available at Dillard’s too.) I literally wore this outfit all day – I went to the buffet wearing it. That’s the great thing about cruises, you can basically walk into the buffet wearing anything, and no one judges you.
And guess what. I also wore these pants and shoes later that night to dinner and out around the boat, but I added this hooded coverup that I wore as a top. Yeah, cruise life is legit you guys. So if you want to channel your inner cruisin’ self and only wear comfy vacation coverups and sandals all day long while still looking somewhat sane, this my friends is the post you have been waiting for.
