A Blogger’s Best Moments of 2016

I had plans of sitting down yesterday to write about my best moments of 2016, but enter my computer monitor deciding it was already done with the year. After two different monitor purchases yesterday, I’m back up and running! But it gave me the chance to sit down with pen and paper – and champagne – and really start writing what I did this year. (Sometimes I forget how much can come out when you have a pen in your hand!) After a sheet full of scribbles and word vomit, I’m ready to share my favorite three 2016 highlights. And maybe even some setbacks too…

Personal Goal: SO Much More Travel

2016 was definitely the year I gained my wings (in more ways than one) especially when it comes to flight mileage! One of the biggest blessings this year was my opportunity to travel. I checked off some bucket list destinations including Palm Springs, Key West, Cape Cod and Bermuda. I took my very first cruise – and discovered that I might be a cruise person! I’ve already started brainstorming where 2017 might bring me in terms of destinations, and I’m excited about the possibilities on the horizon!

(First trip of the new year is next week!)

Development Goal: I Became The Boss

This was the year that I became my own boss. One of the scariest (and most procrastinated) decisions that I’ve had to make as an adult. Looking back, I think the hardest part for me was having to let go of a career that I had worked towards my entire life. How do you say adios, college degree without some heart pangs, you know? Leaving my full-time job and becoming my own boss has been one of the most rewarding and challenging jobs that I’ve had yet. I’m so eager to continue to improve and share this journey with you guys in 2017!

Business Goal: Making WordPress Home

I can’t even tell you how long I dragged my feet moving my site from Blogger to WordPress. And it still doesn’t have all of the kinks worked out yet, but I’m so happy with it so far! Investing more in my site was on my list of goals for 2016, so checking this one off is a major sigh of relief. I’m setting some new website goals for the new year including my newsletter that has continued to take a backseat. (Newsletter fail for the second year in a row – we’re gonna make it happen in 2017!)

I’d love to hear your best moments of 2016! Leave a comment and let me know what you want to see more of in 2017!
