Easy Gifts Under $20 for Anyone Who Needs a Little Holiday Pick-Me-Up

This post is sponsored by Burt’s Bees but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Seeing as how this year has been especially difficult for so many people, my father and I were having a discussion recently about ways we can provide people around us with even the smallest little pick-me-up this holiday season. For example, every year we put out a basket of snacks on our front porch for all the delivery workers working long days to deliver holiday packages. But beyond that, there are so many others who also cross our path on a daily basis that deserve an extra bit of happy. So I started to brainstorm for useful and easy gifts under $20 that could be wrapped up and kept on hand for easy gifting.

Burt’s Bees has always been one of my favorite brands to gift for stocking stuffers and White Elephant gifts. In fact, Jordan gets a box of Burt’s Bees lip balm in his stocking every single year. (It prevents him from stealing mine!) So I decided to look and see what kinds of special holiday gift sets they were offering this season. Of course, I was excited to see the special seasonal lip balm sets! But they also have such great skincare items included in boxed sets under $20. Here are a few of my favorites:

Budget-Friendly Winter Outfits You Won’t Believe Are Under $50

It’s been a while since I’ve done an entire post on my Walmart fashion finds – although you can find a ton of my recent purchases on my page. And y’all, it seems like the shoe lineup at Walmart keeps getting better and better especially with this year’s boot and bootie selection. I recently snatched up a pair of under $30 combat boots while in-store, and that pair has since sold out online! Things are selling fast y’all!

Before things start to sell out for winter, I wanted to round up some of the top picks that I found on the retailer site that were still available in most sizes and look like they could be much more expensive, designer versions. I’ve organized them in three categories depending on what your closet might be needing this season: outdoor + cold weather, casual styling, and all dressed up.

Other categories you don’t want to miss this season:

Comfy Loungewear – I personally love the Secret Treasures sets + Scoop has some great new loungewear.

Tacky Sweaters – The site has already started stocking new tacky holiday sweaters, but these styles tend to go fast!

Family Pajamas – Speaking of selling fast, you’ll want to check out the matching family pjs before those sell out too.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 | TOP PICKS

This year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 is different in many ways – namely being pushed back to due to coronavirus. But unlike any other year, you could actually see EVERYTHING in the sale. You can’t shop the items quite yet depending on your member level, but you can add them to a shopping wishlist giving you the ability to plan your order well in advance. In year’s past, the first day of the sale has felt more like a free-for-all to throw whatever is left in your size into your cart before it sells out.

SEE the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 items HERE

The advantage is now having the ability to budget and curate your wishlist accordingly for when your Nordstrom card membership level is allowed to start shopping. Speaking of, there have been changes and additions to this year’s shopping levels:

Icon Level | Can shop starting AUGUST 4

Ambassador Level | Can shop starting AUGUST 7

Influencer Level | Can shop starting AUGUST 10

Insider Level | Can shop starting AUGUST 13

EVERYONE can shop starting AUGUST 19

Prices go back to full-price starting AUGUST 31

    1. Spanx Faux Leather Leggings – my most worn NSale item
    2. LOVE this Free People sweater that I bet will sell out FAST
    3. Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lip set – this is my everyday lip color
    4. Barefoot Dreams Blanket – top seller every single year
    5. Revitalash Lash Serum – this is my lash serum I’ve used for almost a year now

While tons of brands will go on sale during this event, there are a few that always fly off the shelves first, which also happen to be some of my favorites. Keep an eye out for these best-selling categories:

Top Brands: Sam Edelman, Vince, Steve Madden, Ugg, Marc Fisher

Top Brands: Free People, Madewell, Leith, Halogen, Dreamers

Top Brands: Tory Burch, Gorjana, Quay, Ray-Ban

Top Brands: Bio Ionic Hair Tools, Supergoop, La Mer, Charlotte Tilbury

This sale can be overwhelming to navigate if you don’t have a need list or wishlist already prepared. There are literally hundreds of pages of sale items that can take some serious time to pour through. That’s where I come in – I’ll be saving you time and sharing all the top picks from the sale across multiple categories. Make sure to:

    • I recommend making purchases online so you can avoid going in-store and find your exact size without the hassle. If you want your items immediately, you can set the check out option to “Pick Up In Store” – or have your items delivered to you curbside.
    • Remember that you automatically earn free Nordstrom dollars to use towards purchases whenever you make a purchase in-store or online (including at Nordstrom Rack). Take advantage of this opportunity to earn some cash for future purchases.
    • If you are just applying for a card, you can use it to shop online or in stores instantly as long as you’re approved. You do NOT need to have the physical card to shop the event.

Late Summer Outfits Under $50 from Walmart

I couldn’t let the month of July pass by without rounding up my outfits under $50 from Walmart – it’s basically a monthly series now! I’m excited to see the emergence of some early late-summer, pre-fall styles and prints that are easy to start wearing right now. And I also want to call out that there are currently a TON of rollbacks happening across the fashion category, so make sure to click around for the deals.

A few things I wanted to call out from the collage:

Spotted slip maxi dresses that will surely to sell out

Faux leather moto jackets with details that look high end

Strappy sandals styles that sell for 2x the price on other retailers

Boho bags and pretty accessories on major rollback pricing

Can you guess which things I have my eye on? (Hint: The entire top of the collage!) I also want to highlight the fact that I can order things like cute clothing online all in one cart with other household products that we need instead of having to checkout across multiple sites. (Have you taken advantage of Walmart’s grocery pick up on the app? It’s so easy.)
