Can you believe it’s about to be April?! I’m slightly freaking out – 2 months to go and still SO much wedding planning left to go… but be prepared for lots of fun wedding related posts over these next months. Even if you’re not prepping for your own wedding, I’ve gathered lots of brands and products you still might be interested in learning about.
My week in review… I’ve literally sat in my living room every night this week watching reality television while tracing and cutting out 300 envelope liners for my wedding invitations. Because that’s what I do – I think hey, I can easily do that project all by myself, and then I want to punch myself in the face. BUT y’all. They look SO good. I can’t wait to show you. There was an audible squeal when I saw everything together. What might be my life’s greatest invitation accomplishment is underway.
I also decided that I hate my rehearsal dinner dress or rather, I just hate it on me. So, if anyone is interested in fully sequined, blush French Connection dress – new with tags… let me know. Back to the drawing board on that one!
Anyway, happy weekend – it’s supposed to be a gorgeous one down here in South Louisiana. A lot going on too – Hogs for a Cause in NOLA, Zapp’s Beer Festival in Baton Rouge. Hope you get out and enjoy the much-awaited sunshine tomorrow! 🙂

Convertible pieces are always a must in one’s wardrobe, but maybe none as famous as the little black dress. It’s a classic piece that can stay put in your closet year round. With just a quick switch of accessories, it’s a dress for all seasons. So, in today’s post, I wanted to take the LBD from fall to fringe.
I chose the St. Lucia dress by Buxton Folly as my layering base. It’s a fun, fit and flare dress that’s easy to dress up and dress down. (One particular detail that I love is the turquoise stitching!) I layered a white, fringe crop over it – once summer hits, I’ll be pairing this with a bright bandeau and jean cutoffs.
These leopard flats by Fibi and Clo are a fun way to have some pattern play between the animal print and the fringe. They are perfect for dresses like this one and also with more casual skinny jeans. My Berry Brown Hudson mini in orchid is amazing for spring. It can be worn as a crossbody or shoulder bag in the most brilliant hue. It really is such a beautiful color in person!
How are you making over your LBDs for spring?
I told myself I would not let wedding posts consume the blog, but I ran into an issue I think other people might identify with – the wedding registry – so I thought I’d expound upon the topic. Jordan and I have lived together long enough to have gathered all of the “essentials” for operating in our home, but we haven’t quite invested in the non-essentials like serving ware, an actual full set of dishes that match, etc. And if you haven’t noticed by now, I’m super non-traditional, so china patterns are not happening either. At the same time, we’ve been living in our house long enough to know where we need better entertaining items. So what did we end up including on our registry for this area of our home?
Clearly, I picked out mostly everything… Jordan’s list consisted of a bike rack (he has no bike), an ice cream scoop, a plastic trash can which I have since swapped out with a nicer version and about 5 different types of wine racks.
Here are the questions I asked to help plan my entertaining picks:
What colors/styles match our kitchen?
What are we currently lacking?
If we held a dinner party for 6-8 people, what would we need?
If we hosted a shower or party at our home, what would we need?
What items could be fun monogramed?
How can we make our countertops more visually appealing?
What are we missing for the bar cart?
Thanks to all of our sweet and thoughtful friends for all of the gifts you see above! Part two of the registry series will be coming up soon!
