    Warehouse and Other Brands

Butterfly Shift Dress c/o Oasis / Floppy straw hat c/o Warehouse / ASOS Sonic pointed heel (no longer in white (SIMILAR); BLACK and TAN styles still available) / Zara Metallic clutch (SIMILAR) / The Limited lucite necklace (SIMILAR) / Olive pendant necklace c/o Shabana Khan / Bracelets: Dotted Tusk, Stella & Dot Renegade, leather wrap c/o Clover Boutique, gold beaded bracelet c/o Accessory Auctions, orange bangle DIY, horn bracelet and two vintage gold bracelets / Michael Kors watch / Eternity band c/o Anjolee / Marrakech ring c/o KiraKira.

This post has been almost a month in the making, and I am SO excited to show the final outcome of my collaboration with Warehouse and Other Brands. It’s been a hard secret to keep as we planned a post to kickoff summer style utilizing pieces from both of the Warehouse and Oasis brands. I can’t think of more necessary and versatile summer pieces than a colorful shift, white heels, floppy hat and metallic clutch. Here’s a little rundown of each…

The Oasis Butterfly shift dress is one of my favorite, new summer arrivals. The reflective, mirror design and gold, zippered back immediately caught my attention. Because I’m tall, the length is somewhat short on me but is perfect to pair with low heels like the ASOS Sonic pointed heel. Remember back when I posted about white heels? Yep, snatched these up, and good thing I did because the white version is completely sold out now.

Floppy hats – you know you covet one every time you see one pinned on Pinterest in some exotic location. BUT, you don’t need a far-away beach to rock a floppy straw hat. Summer concerts, days by the pool, weekend BBQs and patio brunches – heck anytime you’re out in the sun, you can wear a floppy hat like this one from Warehouse. I’m also loving this black and white floppy straw hat version too.

A fun outfit like this calls for a fun purse as well – but not one with lots of color. A metallic clutch makes a statement without stealing the spotlight, and in fact, it actually reflects the colors you’re already wearing. Pile on some bracelet stacks and layer some necklaces to complete the metallic look!

Are you liking Warehouse and Other Brands so far? I think you’re going to like them even more because they are giving one of my readers a $100 shopping credit! I can name about 20+ things I’d like to spend that $100 on… but let me get to the important stuff:

People Stylewatch June Feature + Style Picks

Okay, so I already put it on all my social media accounts – but I had to make it blog official too! If you haven’t heard/seen, check out the June issue of People Stylewatch (page 48). I got a little shout out in the “You Got It Right” article! APoL is going national y’all! 🙂

Anyway, you’ll also find a lot of awesome trends for summer, so I picked some of my favorites from the issue to share in today’s post:

    1. Billabong Little Mama crop – Crops and bandeaus are everywhere, and this is one of my favorites.
    2. Kate Spade Saturday Easy On Sandals – Love the simple style in an unexpected color.
    3. Sun Junk Tote – Fab colors and design.
    4. DV by Dolce Vita Briza sandal – Suede, beads and tassels – enough said.
    5. Dittos Misty Lovebird cutoff shorts – Neon tropical bird print denim. Yes.
    6. BCBGeneration Broken Pleat shorts – Shorts that look like a skirt, so you don’t have to worry about that gust-of-wind-embarrassing-moment…
    7. Dots and Dahlias Chambray shirt – You have chambray but do you have patterned chambray?
    8. Ombre Straw Tote – I imagine lots of fresh flowers being carried in this straw bag.

    Festival Style Pt 2

Tank, Nola necklace and K Alphaline bracelet c/o Sarah Ott; vintage fan, bag, handpainted sunglasses and skirt c/o Time Warp BoutiqueLayla Earrings, Sunshine BeadsCamille BraceletBrittney Bracelet c/o Dotted Tusk; BCBGeneration sandals; Stella & Dot Spirit bracelet (benefitting Autism Awareness); spike and gold bead bracelet c/o Accessory Auctions.

Welcome to Part 2 of the music festival style series! New Orleans is obviously known for Jazz Fest, but there are actually festivals all year round which means it’s one of the best places to find unique festival fashion. And, it also means there are cute, New Orleans themed shirts and accessories to wear to said festivals like the ones in today’s post available in Sarah Ott’s online boutique. Not to mention, people from and around New Orleans are Nola-proud making Sarah’s “Nola” necklace (seen in today’s post) and bangle (seen in last week’s post) hot commodities. I especially love this festival tank featuring a guitar comprised of different New Orleans words and illustrations – but more on that tomorrow!

I also had some awesome picks again from my Time Warp Boutique edit. I mean, hand-painted sunglasses and a vintage, woven fan. It really can’t get any better than that (especially since I’m always wishing for a fan in the Louisiana heat). Time Warp had several of them in different colors too. I also had my Dotted Tusk bracelets stacked on, and this time, I added another one – the Sunshine Beads bracelet in bright yellow. I wear this one more often than you’d think because I find it really does bring a little sunshine to my day and in this case, to this photoshoot!

I look forward to further introducing you to Sarah Ott tomorrow!!

Jasmine from Sequin Crush and I had a blast at French Quarter Fest on Sunday shooting these festival style photos. I made it out of there without eating any festival food – how that happened I have no idea because it smelled like heaven. I love that we both showed up in crop tops and vintage – obsessed with her chambray option. I’m also pretty impressed that her shorts and belt were both her mom’s! (Um, Mom. What’s the deal? Where are my cool hand-me-downs?) Check out Sequin Crush for more of Jasmine’s style!

The fun thing about music festivals is that you see people wearing all sorts of crazy things which means you can ultimately do the same. But more specifically, I immediately think funky prints and lots of pattern mixing. Where better to look than my favorite vintage store Time Warp Boutique. Sarah from Time Warp and I had fun picking out different tops and bottoms and matching various prints together. I honestly could have stayed in there the entire day putting together outfits… but I only had my lunch break. AND did you see?! I found another B initial bracelet like the one I lost last month!

Let me also point out my new bracelet stacks from Dotted Tusk. I’ve long been a fan of this line, and Dotted Tusk’s earrings and bracelets are perfect festival accessories. They pull in natural stone elements like marble and turquoise, and I love how effortless they look when piled on next to one another. The Brittney bracelet has a tassel on it – which I love and it comes in various colors. Not to mention, the Layla earrings pack a big punch when worn – in the most beautiful color. And if you love what you’re seeing from Dotted Tusk so far, you’ll want to check back tomorrow for an extra special giveaway featuring these very same pieces (yay!)…

Getting to Know – Shannon Kirsten Photography

I’m so excited to introduce Shannon from Shannon Kirsten Photography on the blog today! For a long, long time now, I’ve been inspired by pretty much everything that Shannon puts on social media. I stalk her pins on Pinterest and make sure to catch her Instagram updates because she not only has pretty photography but painted projects as well. Right now, I’m swooning over her streetstyle series with Cami from Camilyn Beth… the photos are gorge!

Shannon’s photography screams bright and crisp and free-spirited, and these adjectives, I think, perfectly sum up her illustrations as well. Everything is fun; everything is given just the right amount of extra thought. I think that’s why I’m so into her style – because it’s something I’d definitely love to achieve in my own work. She’s got an eye behind the camera and behind the brush which is pretty special!

If you’re in Florida and need an awesome photographer, give Shannon a shout. OR if you’re in Louisiana and want to get her to take some photos let me know… I might try to start some sort of photo petition to get her here for a weekend, haha. Also, make sure to check her out and follow her on social media:
