I’m excited to finally start sharing parts of our honeymoon to Greece with you. Today, I’m talking about one of my absolute favorite activities that we had on the island of Santorini – the wine tasting tour! I’m a huge white wine person, and Santorini is famous for it’s white wine varietals especially those that derive from the assyrtiko grape – thus, this was the exact wine tour for me. Well, really any wine tour is good for me but you get it…

But first, what to wear! I saw this Karlie embroidered dress from Fab Finds Boutique and knew it would be the perfect outdoorsy, comfortable dress to pack for the wine tour. It was such a good piece for walking through the vineyards and feeling the windy breezes of Santorini. And for an added earthy piece of jewelry, I topped it off with the Alyce turquoise and tortoise Elaine Turner necklace. This necklace can be worn two different ways depending on what you’re wearing (and it’s on sale!) Adding a crossbody and comfortable sandals was a must as well.

If you ever plan on visiting Santorini, the wine tour is a must! We had such a great time with our guide Vaios, meeting our “drinking mates” and learning about the unusual grape vines of the island- you’ve probably noticed they are strangely low to the ground. It’s because they wrap each vine into a circular wreath to keep them low to the soil and out of the heat. For this reason, the grapes develop a very specific mineral taste which make the wines so distinctive. This is the only place in the world that the vineyards grow this way! Here are a few more photos from the actual tour. If you’re interested, you can find more information on the Santorini Wine Tour website! Here are a few more photos from our wine tour destinations:
