I don’t know if you guys have noticed, but my spring and summer has been packed with trips! I love visiting new places and exploring the unfamiliar but the downside to it is ALWAYS packing! I have a strong urge to overpack every. single. time. Whether it’s clothes, shoes, or my beauty bag, my luggage is brimming to the top. My week-long trip to France really challenged me to pare back and only take the essentials! Since skincare and makeup goodies tend to be my biggest battle (and the heaviest to pack), I wanted to share a basic packing list that caters to sunny, gorgeous weather and perfect skin. Read on to find out the basic skincare products to pack for long-haul trips and why I always pack eos products!

1. Shaving Cream
You don’t normally hear people speak of shaving creams as a packing essential but it is for me – especially in the summer when I’m baring a lot of skin and traveling for longer periods of time. I recently shared this post on my shaving routine and raved about the Sensitive Shave Cream from eos. You can bet it’s what I pack on long-haul trips. I want to look my best while on vacation because I’m always shooting lots of photos and looking for ways to whip up creative content. Having this shaving cream on hand helps me ensure my skin is in the best condition. Smooth skin allows body oils and lotions to absorb more effectively, which ultimately give me that soft, diffused glow. The packaging is perfect for stashing off to the side of your luggage. And if you’re only taking a carry-on, the foamless formulation makes it so easy to dispense into a smaller TSA-approved container.
2. Hydrating Lip Balms
Don’t underestimate the sun’s ability to damage the lips. I could never travel without a hydrating lip balm – I normally have 3-4 in my carry-on just in case. I prefer a waxy texture as it sticks to the lips better and provides a stronger protection barrier. I also love those jam packed with ingredients like vitamin E and jojoba oil (eos makes some really nice organic ones too).
While I love spending time in the sun, I also know how damaging it can be for your skin. So, I’m never without sunscreen. Whether it’s in my foundation or body lotion, I make sure to bring at least one or two that contain a minimum of SPF 30. I highly recommend you try a sunscreen mist or mousse if the sticky feeling of creams and lotions make you uncomfortable in hot weather.
4. Facial Mist
Facial mists are also a saving grace! I like to spritz my face before applying makeup and also right after. I find myself reapplying facial mists when I’ve been out exploring for hours. It feels pretty amazing if you need a quick refresher or pick me up. Those that are packed with calming ingredients such as rose water and chamomile are perfect for extended hours in the sun.
5. Face Masks
And lastly, face masks are so necessary! Between juggling time zone changes, unbalanced meals, and constantly running around, my skin needs lots of TLC. Facial masks are perfect because they contain potent ingredients that immediately nourish the skin. You should pick one according to your skin type, but I usually look for hydrating and clarifying ones.
