Let’s get this out here right now – plaid has gotten a bad rap. When most people envision plaid, they’re either thinking of lumberjacks or early 90s grunge, but that’s totally not this print’s full potential! I think with the right plaid, you can certainly create a chic outfit moment – which is what I was aiming to prove in today’s post.
I paired my oversized plaid (the size shown is a small, so no need to size up) with minimalistic pieces like my double-strap mules and Parker satchel. My animal print sunglasses are the only other print that I wanted to incorporate because it’s just enough to play off the shirt’s pattern. I love plaid and animal print combinations, but the result can be overkill if not worn together correctly. I kept my jewelry very modern with some thick gold rings and my favorite new Baublebar x-ring. Don’t forget a good red lip! This helps give the overall outfit a simplistic but pulled together polish.
You can do the same thing with a nice blue or navy plaid as well.
