It’s the moment that I’ve been waiting much too long for – I’m packing up my boots and trading them in for the spring’s cutest pairs of flats. I’ve accumulated what I think to be my very favorite seven pairs of spring flats, and I feel so strongly about them that I made a diagram for you! Let’s start with a checklist of styles to look for!
Pointed-Toe – You may not initially be the biggest fan of the pointed-toe flat, but you need at least one! Whether its just strictly pointed-toe or in d’orsay form, they seem to be the breakout trend for flats this year.
Ballet – The most classic and lady-like of the flats. They can be accentuated with a sweet little bow, a jeweled brooch or criss-cross straps. They go with practically anything – maxi skirt, fit and flare dress, high-waisted shorts – all your basics for warm weather.
The Driving Shoe / Smoking Slipper – This style is most versatile with skinny jeans or cropped pants in the fall months, but there are a lot of new materials and updated styles that bring this shoe into spring – like the raffia and awning stripes seen above.
Now, we’ve got our basic shapes down, but these shapes can come in limitless patterns and materials. My favorites are lasercut, animal print, snakeskin, metallic and regular leather.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be showing you exactly how to wear each one of these different shapes and textures with the first one (I’m so excited about this one) starting tomorrow, and there will even be a few giveaways along the way too, so get excited! 🙂
