The little black dress I’m wearing here is from Halogen, a brand I love for the trendy styles, great fit, and affordable price points, which you can find at Nordstrom. I recently spoke about Halogen here but wanted to share a few more favorite items today! This dress in particular is perfect in every way from the a-line silhouette to the comfortable material. It’s so functional and wearable all through spring and summer. Below are the two ways I styled it.

Worn with Flats

One of spring’s biggest trends is woven accessories, which I’m so obsessed with right now because they add a touch of whimsy. Whether you go with a straw, wicker, or macrame handbag, it will tone down the look of your little black dress while injecting textural interest. I picked up this round straw bag from Nordstrom and fell in love with the two tone detail and unexpected shape. The combination is so fun and playful! Next, I grabbed a denim jacket because it’s lightweight, relaxed, and effortless – the perfect cover up for spring. Finally, for my shoes, a pair of espadrilles were an easy choice, and this flat mule style makes walking so easy!

Worn with Heels

To elevate your little black dress, heels are a must! I can’t stop wearing these bright slide sandals because they’re so statement making especially when combined with black. They’re also extremely comfortable which is a bonus! Then, I added a silk scarf, and that always makes any look a little dressier. The bright stripes really pop against the dark color and jazz up the simple neckline. Handbags are the finishing touch to any dressy outfit, so don’t forget to swap your day bag for a clutch or something with more structure. Look for punchy details like metallic hardware or embellishments because they add life to a simple LBD.
