When you think “black pencil skirt,” your first mental image is probably something very 9-to-5. But, when it’s a black scuba pencil skirt, it has a little more personality than just your typical workwear skirt. I wanted to find a fun way to style a piece like this that’s ordinarily mundane and most of the time overlooked. That pencil skirt you’ve shoved in depths of your closet deserves a little time to shine for fall.
I decided to pair mine with a sweatshirt with a bit of an edge. I’ve been a fan of the windowpane pattern since last fall, so I really like this J.Crew Factory sweatshirt with a graphic sleeve. It’s a sweatshirt that is comfortable without looking sloppy. I also love the blue version here.
As long as it’s still in the mid-to-high 80’s in Baton Rouge, I’m going to continue rocking my black mules. I can’t get enough of these guys! Other accessories in today’s post include my gray Elaine Turner crossbody, and you probably noticed my brightly colored bracelet stack. Both of the pink bracelets are benefitting Breast Cancer Awareness. I’ll have a very special post up later today explaining the origins of both and how you can participate. Stay tuned for that this afternoon!
