What To Pack For A Fall Getaway | Wednesday Wishlist

A fall foliage getaway is the perfect way to transition into the cooler weather, and we just had the best time ever in Vermont last week! Going to Vermont is my favorite item to check off on my fall to-do list because the vibrant leaves and beautiful scenery are out of this world. We literally never get to see anything like it here in Louisiana, and it’s become such a special place to me. BUT a trip like this also calls for the right packing list.

Below, I rounded up similar pieces to what I packed and will be wearing throughout the season. Think warm, cozy layers, chic boots, and fun accessories that can be mixed and matched for endless outfits! Whether you’re off to the mountains or getting lost in a corn maze, here’s everything you need to pack for a fall getaway.

More Fall Outfit Ideas:

BOOTS

I normally bring a ton of boot options, but I decided to keep it simple this year since Bennett was with us. I only packed one pair of ankle boots, a pair of knee boots, and a pair of over-the-knee boots. I was able to interchange all of these with the different outfits that I brought. I also brought a pair of sherpa lined sneakers for airport days and casual outfits.

LAYERING PIECES

Always pack layering pieces! The second day of our trip was warmer than we expected, so I was able to take off my heavy knit cardigan and swap it for a lighter one over my camisole. I also brought this quilted vest. And lastly, you’ll need to be prepared for nights when the temps drop even lower with some heavier layering options.

SWEATER DRESSES

Yay my favorite thing to pack for a fall trip! I love a good sweater dress that you can layer up with a cardigan and boots. I found brought a standard berry color sweater dress, an ivory sweater dress, and one that has a fun checked pattern.

ACCESSORIES

Because I knew I was packing on the lighter side this trip, I only brought only tone  neutral handbags and two neutral hats. These items were super versatile and interchangeable. I brought my favorite new Leatherology handbag – I wear this ALL the time because the leather is so soft. There is a back pocket to slide your phone into and the closure is magnetic, so there’s no zipper to mess with while your hands are full. Plus, the monogram option! LOVE IT.

Are you planning a little getaway this fall?

Cute pieces! I’m probably travelling to Korea in November so this is great for reference (although it’ll probably be even colder then)! ❤️✨
